Campus-XR FAQ

What is it? What is Campus-XR?

Campus-XR is a VR+AI powered learning platform, designed to turbo-charge education delivery and increase student engagement through immersive, interactive and personalised experiences.

Uniquely Campus-XR has been designed from within a school with teachers and students contributing directly to the many features and functions that resolve real world challenges and make it easy to use.

It offers exciting and dynamic curriculum aligned content with “out of the box” curriculum aligned lessons and provides teachers with the ability to create new and exciting content from scratch, bringing almost any topic to life in highly memorable interactive VR - by simply speaking to our “AI Builder” you can create 3D models and 360 scenes to match your precise needs.

How do you use AI?

We use AI in a number of education focussed ways. Importantly Campus-XR packages up AI use for education with strict guardrails in lin ewith KCSIE and safeguarding regulation. AI features include – debating/conversing with historical and/or significant figures, to really captivate the learner and promote empathy and genuine inspiration to seek out information and autonomously reengage.

Personalisation of material - to match learner ability, draw upon their unique interests and skills, whilst providing necessary stretch without academic overload.

Our “AI Tagger” – this encouraging students to point and click on artifacts to retrieve facts and explanations (also added to their profile for gamified assessments).

We also use generative AI to allow teachers to create 3D models and 360 scenes simply by describing them - this makes Campus-XR highly flexible for almost all education use cases.

How do you use VR?

VR provides the learner with highly immersive, memorable and inspirational educational experiences. We adhere to the DICE principles, meaning that experiences make the most of VR due them being: Dangerous, Impossible, Counterproductive, or Expensive. This brings real purpose to the use of virtual reality rather than simply replicating what can be done in a classroom. Although VR is the premium interface, the entire platform also runs in 2D from a laptop or similar device. This is great if you have very large classes where not all can access a VR headset at once - they can still collaborate, teachers often offer the VR element as a reward to supercharge motivation and inspire greater task focus. The 2D version (for teachers) also enables them to supervise the entire session without having to be in a headset, if they prefer this format.

How do teachers configure lessons?

Our Web Portal allows teachers to log-in and select from pre-packaged “lesson ready” material across a wide range of subjects, or generate bespoke content. We’ve also added really useful guides and support here to make using Campus-XR as simple as possible, this includes:

Subject/Topic specific lessons plans – building a complete plan (with AI) around the focus area, with a step by step guide explaining how to incorporate Campus-XR into an outstanding lesson.

Drag and drop images, videos, 3D models, music and many other file types to import into VR, further personalising experiences.

Generate personalised and curriculum-aligned AI quizzes, for the Campus-XR (assessment) arena. Make test fun and challenge students to “beat their previous score”.

What VR headset do you recommend?

We recommend Meta Quest headsets although Campus-XR can run on other devices. Our reason for recommending Meta is that they are superbly priced for education and offer a high quality experience via robust and high specification components. Campus-XR  has a close relationship with Meta and can assist with hardware as an official education partner.

Is it VR only?

You can also run Campus-XR in 2D (from a browser on a Windows laptop or MacBook)

The majority of students are naturally drawn to VR however to minimise barriers to entry Campus-XR also runs in 2D from a laptop, so that non-VR users can join VR users in the same environment to collaborate and explore as a team/group. Teachers can also run sessions from a laptop if they prefer.

This assists with:

Lesson Management - organise and coordinate immersive learning experiences effortlessly.

Real-Time Student Monitoring & Feedback – Track engagement, guide learning and provide instant corrections.

Integrated Learning Resources – Access and incorporate quizzes, videos, and educational tools in real time, directly from your laptop

How much is it? How much does it cost?
